Day two...

Made it again... The gym was shocked to see me :P

It was a fight to get up but I did it.

Started with a run - 1.75 miles.

The first 10 minutes was really easy and I thought the run was going to be a breeze, but the second 10 minutes - it was a struggle. It took every motivational technique in my bag o' tricks to get thorugh, but I did and finished my 1.75 miles in 21:22.

Then it was off to the gym. Shoulders today.

Military Press (+bar): 50 x 6 / 50 x 6 / 50 x 5

What's funny here is that I thought I had 45 on the bar. Fiance sayed something about me lifting 50 before and I told him that 50 had been 'too heavy' and so I had desided to drop back to 45 again. He didn't say anything, but did laugh when I finished and suddenly realized that there WAS 50lbs on the bar... duh!

Dumbbell Press: 35 x 6

Lat Raise: 25 x 6 / 25 x 6

Shrugs: 50 x 6 / 50 x 6

And then I was done!

Food should be right on again today - I'm excited to be back firing on all cylenders.

Oh! and I got my Body-for-life on CD today... I'm REALLY enjoying it. I had loaned out my book a while back and that person never returned it. One thing that I'm enjoying is it's FORCING me to listen to all the MENTAL parts of the book again - the part I'm sure I barely read. I've gotten so much out of listening to these already!

  1. Ah, you're back on a roll, awesome! And way to go on the 50-lb military presses! Woohooo!

  2. Shawn, you really did a brilliant thing on the run Misses. You found a way to take something that was failing, and inject new life into it.

Of course knowledge helps in that situation, because you knew what to do, but you still had to work out how to save the run from going wrong, whilst still running.

Sometimes doing such activity, can cause your mind to have difficulty, holding a thought process.

You did something pretty impressive there, to not believe you were failing, and not just slow down, or carry on walking.

WELL DONE. I don't know how you find these little ways, to take a situation that looks almost lost, and then just nail a solid result, (though I can imagine), but also considering you recently felt below par, you should be VERY, VERY PROUD of yourself Shawn.

I know you can fulfill all your exceptional promise. I'm so happy for you, and proud for you too.

YOU WILL be a stage athlete and a PT by 2008. YOU CAN DO IT Shawn. You're just an incredible person, and a true inspiration :-).

Have an awesome day. You deserve to feel amazing, especially with the training as well.

YOU ROCK Shawn, have a good one, keep smiling, and GOOD LUCK.

  3. Way to go on the exercising and treadmill!!! You kicked it today! Pass some of that motivation over my way! Haha

I just got my treadmill back today and I ran on it this morning... SO beats going out on my trail in the FREEZING cold! Keep it up Chicken Wing! :-)

  4. Good stuff Girl!! YOu're making me feel guilty that I only did a 15 min warm up before hitting the weights! Geee & I'm not recovering from Anything!! alright tomorrow it's CARDIO for this girl! :P

    Hugs Lala*

  5. It's probably just as well you didn't realize you had the 50lbs on the military press until after. If you had known it was there, you would have psyched yourself into thinking you couldn't do it. It really goes to show that a big part of training is mental, isn't it? I did the same thing to myself with assisted pullups a couple of weeks ago and was thrilled to realize that I needed less assistance than I thought.

  6. lol, the gym was shocked huh? Mine was too today. lol have been missing in action this week except for yoga.

  7. Hey, I too "loaned" my BFL book and never got it back... working up the nerve to ask for it back. However, I have a 35 min commute and I do like the audio books! Cheers, Tim

  8. Sounds like your doing some great stuff. 50 lb military presses would just about do me in (bad shoulders from swimming in college) but you sound you're kicking some major butt!! Btw I'm back in Gym and seem to be blogging again...2 days in a row for the blog 4 days in a row for the gym. We'll see!!

  9. Jeremy is right, you are kicking some major butt! Great workout.
